Why does a salad cost more than a Big Mac?

Government food subsidies. Take a look. This comes from the Consumerist website.
Also looking at the recommendations pyramid, doesn’t 11 servings of grains seem like a lot compared to 9 fruits and veggies? That is about 80% carbs. Really?

4 for perfect fitness

1) Train with Stanimal. If you did train with stanimal you would have increased strength and vitality, improved joint stability, reduced body fat and better cardiovascular performance. Unfortunately I can only train a few folks.
But you need to exercise. We all know this. 30 minutes every day break a sweat from exercising. The end.

Soft drinks in the news again

Great article for those of you who can’t give up the soft drinks yet.
“Soft drinks contain little to no vitamins or other essential nutrients. However, it is what they do contain that is the problem: caffeine, carbonation, simple sugars — or worse, sugar substitutes — and often food additives such as artificial coloring, flavoring, and [...]

America waddles on Dunkin

I see these commercials all the time. America runs on Dunkin. The people are all very active fueled by donuts I guess. Um, no.
Wake it up people, marketers, Government.
From an article in Men’s Health, http://www.menshealth.com/16secrets/secretdunkindonuts.html

Dunkin doesn’t want you to know that each of its medium-size fruit-and-yogurt smoothies packs at least 60 grams of sugar—more than [...]

What is your excuse?

What is your favorite excuse?
Is there really a reason you can’t eat properly or exercise regularly?
Here are some of my favorite excuses. These are the ones I hear every day. I may have even used one of these myself.
I don’t have time. (You haven’t made time. Is your health more important?)
I love the taste of [...]
